Explore thought-provoking questions about AI's impact on human nature. This article examines parallels between frustrations with LLMs (large language models) and everyday human interactions. Can you distinguish AI-generated questions from human-written ones? Test your perception of AI's capabilities and join the discussion on AI, human behavior, and the future of technology.

A couple of provocative questions about AI and human nature

The following are thought provoking questions posed by a lawyer reflecting on recent, up to February 2025, AI developments. Five question pairs below were drafted by a human author with further refinement by AI, while other five question pairs were generated by AI with minor stylistic changes by the author. Can you guess which ones are which? Drop a comment below, e.g. human first are 1 - 5 and AI first are 6 - 10. Hint: this is incorrect because I asked AI to put all question pairs in a random order😉

  1. Are you bothered by the fact that LLMs can't experience emotions? When were you last bothered by someone's lack of empathy?
  2. Are you bothered that LLMs respond faster than you can read? When were you last bothered that CPUs/GPUs/NPUs process data faster than you can think?
  3. Are you frustrated by LLMs confidently stating falsehoods? When were you last frustrated by confident falsehoods believed by others?
  4. Are you frustrated when LLMs don't follow instructions accurately? When were you last frustrated by a colleague for not following instructions?
  5. Are you disappointed by LLMs' inability to understand sarcasm? When were you last disappointed by a friend or colleague missing your sarcastic joke?
  6. Are you bothered by LLMs surpassing human intelligence? When were you last bothered by a library holding more knowledge than one could ever absorb?
  7. Are you frustrated by LLMs' incorrect responses? When were you last frustrated by receiving an incorrect answer from a friend or colleague?
  8. Are you annoyed when LLMs provide overly generic answers? When were you last annoyed by a vague horoscope reading?
  9. Are you disappointed that LLMs respond without thinking or merely simulate thinking? When were you last disappointed with a human tendency to speak before thinking?
  10. Are you concerned that LLMs aren’t creative? When were you last worried your ideas weren’t original?

This is purely for fun, please do not judge. Instead, please share your comments in a constructive and respectful manner. The author and AI remain innocent until proven guilty.
